Enhancing the Online Presence of Life Line Children Hospital: Observations and Recommendations.
In today's digital age, having a strong online presence is crucial for healthcare facilities to effectively reach and engage with their target audience. As more and more individuals turn to the internet for information and healthcare-related services, it becomes increasingly important for healthcare providers to optimize their online presence to meet the needs and expectations of their patients.
In this blog post, I will delve into the assessment of our website and analyze our social media presence. I was asked to thoroughly evaluate Our online platforms and provide recommendations for improvement. The goal of this assessment is to help Life line Children Hospital enhance its online presence and better connect with our audience in a digital landscape that is rapidly evolving.
A well-designed and user-friendly website is not only a reflection of a healthcare facility's professionalism and credibility but also serves as a virtual front door, providing visitors with a glimpse into the services and expertise offered. Similarly, an active and engaging social media presence enables healthcare facilities to directly interact with patients, share valuable information, build trust, and establish meaningful connections.
This Detailed analysis would be in two broad Sections :
Website Assessment
Social Media Assessment
Section 1: Website Assessment
1.1 Outdated Design and User Experience:
The current design of our website appears to lack a modern look and may give off an outdated impression. The visual elements, such as color schemes, fonts, and overall layout, seem to need a refresh. This can have a significant impact on visitors' perceptions of the facility, as a visually appealing and professional website can instill confidence and trust in potential patients.
Moreover, the user experience on the website could be enhanced. The navigation menu, in particular, plays a vital role in guiding visitors and helping them find the information they need efficiently. However, the existing navigation menu may not be optimized for intuitive navigation, hindering the user experience. It might lack clarity, be difficult to locate, or lack proper categorization of information.
Below are pictorial Representations of some of my observations:
Website SSL Certificate Authority Expired
Ideally, we should have something like a padlock, as indicated below with an Arrow.
Also highlighted in the image below is the effect of not having an active Website SSL Certificate Authority.
Any potential client visits our website, and that is the first thing they see. This doesn't build trust and doesn't speak well for the brand.
Use of Stock photos across different sections of the Website:
Poor Image Quality Scattered across the website
The learn more icon in the image below doesn't take us anywhere
1.2 Lack of Clear Messaging on the Homepage:
The current homepage of the website lacks a clear and concise message that effectively communicates the facility's services and expertise to visitors. Upon landing on the homepage, it may be challenging for users to grasp the core purpose of the organization and the unique value it offers. This can lead to confusion and potentially deter potential patients or clients from exploring further.
Upon Visiting our website, the first thing that pops up is this:
1.3 Inadequate or unupdated information about Services and Specialties:
Upon reviewing our website, it was evident that there is a lack of detailed information about the healthcare services offered and the specialties available. While visitors may get a general idea of the facility's areas of expertise, they are left wanting more specific information about the services provided.
Nothing on our website indicates we have started Offering Radiological services.
Last and only blog post on the website was from 2019, as seen below:
1.4 Insufficient Contact Information:
The current website lacks easily accessible contact information, which is essential for potential patients or clients who may have inquiries or wish to schedule appointments. Contact information should be prominently displayed on every page of the website to ensure visitors can quickly and conveniently reach out to the facility.
1.5 Absence of Social Media Links on the Website:
Another noteworthy problem is the absence of social media links on the website. This oversight represents a missed opportunity to connect website visitors with the facility's social media presence and engage with them on popular platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Including social media links on the website is crucial for several reasons:
Seamless Cross-Platform Integration: Integrating social media links on the website allows visitors to easily navigate to our social media pages without having to search for them separately. It creates a seamless transition for individuals who wish to explore more about the facility, engage with its content, and stay updated on the latest news and updates.
Increased Social Media Following: By prominently displaying social media links, Life Line can encourage website visitors to connect and follow the facility on various social media platforms. This can lead to an increase in the facility's social media following, expanding its reach and potential audience.
Strengthened Online Reputation: Active social media platforms serve as an extension of Life Line's brand and online reputation. By linking the website to social media profiles, the facility can showcase the engagement, positive reviews, and valuable content shared on these platforms. This strengthens the overall online reputation and reinforces the facility's expertise and credibility.
